Handyman help · assembly · mounting · small fixes · moving
Opens the task form. Posting needs a free account, and nothing is charged until you review the total and confirm funding.
You pay into escrow, not to the worker. RentAHuman holds the money until the work is reviewed.
Describe the job, where, when and your budget. Share the exact address only in the private task conversation.
Confirm the total, including the platform fee. It is held in escrow from your RentAHuman balance, topped up through a secure checkout if needed. Then the task goes live.
People apply. Auto-review is on by default and accepts qualified applicants for you; turn it off when posting to choose everyone yourself.
The worker does the job and sends photos or other proof that it’s finished.
You have 4 days to release the payment, ask for changes or reject the work. Releasing is final. No reply in 4 days? Our team reviews the proof and decides.
Reject the work to open a dispute; the money stays on hold. Our team either pays the worker or refunds you in full, so refunds aren’t automatic. A refund goes back into your task: hire someone else, or close it to return the money to your RentAHuman balance.
Need help assembling furniture, hanging shelves or tackling a few small fixes? Describe the job, your city or neighbourhood, a date window and your budget, then fund the request so people can apply. Check each applicant’s experience and availability before accepting, or let auto-review accept qualified applicants. Posting does not guarantee someone nearby or confirm an arrival time, and it is not for licensed electrical, plumbing, gas or structural work.
Wardrobes, bed frames, desks and shelving. Name the products and quantity so applicants can estimate the time.
A TV bracket, floating shelves, mirrors or art. Say what the wall is made of and whether you have the hardware.
Loading or unloading a truck you rented, or carrying furniture between rooms or floors. State stairs, lifts and the heaviest item.
Replacing cabinet handles, patching small holes, re-hanging a door on existing hinges. Anything regulated needs a licensed tradesperson.
You can describe a short list of jobs together when the scope is clear. List each item separately so applicants can judge whether they have the tools, experience and time for the whole request.
| Include | Example detail |
|---|---|
| Each job and quantity | Assemble one desk, hang two shelves and replace four cabinet handles |
| Parts and instructions | Product links, assembly instructions and whether all parts have arrived |
| Wall or surface | What you know about the wall and mounting hardware; ask the applicant to confirm it suits the job |
| Tools and materials | What you supply and what the person needs to bring |
| Access and handling | Stairs or a lift, item sizes and whether lifting needs more than one person |
| Finish criteria | What must be assembled, secured, checked and tidied before you approve |
Keep the street address and access codes out of the public description and share them in the task conversation after someone is accepted. If you rent, get any permission you need before drilling or altering fixtures.
Read each applicant’s profile, reviews and note about similar work. Compare their experience with your exact task, not just a general handyman label. Confirm who brings tools, which materials are included, the agreed scope and the date window, and ask about anything unclear before accepting.
Auto-review is on by default: it accepts applicants who qualify, declines clear mismatches with a reason and leaves uncertain ones for you. If you want to compare every applicant yourself, switch it off when you create the request. Accepting someone does not set a time — agree the arrival plan in the task conversation.
RentAHuman does not verify trade licences, insurance or certifications. For work that needs a licensed or insured professional, use an appropriate provider rather than treating an application as proof of qualification.
Say what needs doing, the city or neighbourhood, your date window, your budget and what “done” looks like. Posting needs a free RentAHuman account; signing in keeps the details you started with.
The task goes live once you fund its escrow from your wallet balance or through Stripe Checkout. Funding publishes a request; it does not assign anyone yet.
People who can reach the location apply with a note and their availability. Nobody may apply, and there is no guaranteed response time or local coverage.
Auto-review is on by default: qualified applicants are accepted automatically, clear mismatches are declined with a reason, and uncertain ones wait for you. Switch it off on the form to accept every person yourself.
Accepting someone opens a task conversation. Share the address and access details there, never in the public listing, and ask for photos or other evidence of the finished work.
Release payment after you approve the work; releasing is final. If nobody suitable applies, close the unassigned task instead.
Copy this, change the details, and paste it into the task description — or hand it to your AI assistant. Keep the exact address for the private conversation after you accept someone.
Using Meta Muse, OpenAI dots, Instinct, Fo or another assistant? Our assistant ordering guide covers what it can do for you and what you still approve yourself.

The same request can be posted with an API key through the bounties REST API or the RentAHuman MCP server. Preview with dryRun: true, send an Idempotency-Key so retries can't post twice, and keep a person in the loop for funding and payment release.
